The White Buffalo + Lukas Nelson at O2 Academy
£19.31 incl. booking fee

A gig held at O2 Academy on Wednesday 11th July. The event starts at 19:30.

Having just performed a knock out show at the O2 Academy Bristol last week, The White Buffalo (a.k.a Jake Smith) returns, this time accompanied by the roadhouse rock and Texas Hill Country of Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.

With just four or five loose ideas when going in to the studio to record his new album ‘Darkest Darks, Lightest Lights’, The White Buffalo impressively shot from the hip to record something “truly masterful” (Spill Magazine). With five albums since 2002’s debut ‘Hogtied Like a Rodeo’, and a string of tracks featured in the film Shelter, and US TV Shows ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and ‘Californication’, he comes to O2 Academy Bristol for a night of richly evocative songcraft – “rocking one minute and ripping your heart out the next” (Rolling Stone).

Support from very special guest Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. With Nelson’s “classic blues-guitar chops and a voice that uncannily resembles his dad’s [Willie Nelson], he’s has carved out his place as both a go-to guitarist and a frontman” (Rolling Stone). The 28-year-old is selling out clubs nightly, playing his excellent self-entitled new LP, and has just finished his third album backing Neil Young, who hired Nelson’s band to go on tour in 2015.

This is a standing show. Taking place at O2 Academy Bristol, Frogmore St, Bristol BS1 5NA

Part of River Town 2018.
