The Baghdaddies - Final Tour + DJ Paulo Fernandez at The Old Market Assembly

A gig held at The Old Market Assembly on Friday 15th November. The event starts at 22:30.

28 years… hundreds of shows and thousands of miles… 2024 will be @baghdaddies last year!

Come and experience this Balkan tour-de-force for one very special final Bristol performance at @oldmarketassembly NEXT Fri 15th Nov!

One of the first bands in the UK to play Balkan ‘gypsy’ style music,
mixing it with their own original material. The Baghdaddies’ exuberant
brand of world music is an exhilarating cocktail of Balkan melodies, ska
and latin grooves and sizzling brass played with furious energy and
theatrical humour.

“If jerry Dammers and Terry Hall had grown up listening to world music,
The specials might have sounded very like the Baghdaddies.”
— Nigel Williamson – Uncut Magazine

“The band have a particular flair for the Balkans and capture its frenetic
energy and flamboyance wonderfully. There is also a fair share of
klezmer, jazz, ska and punk – an anarchic fusion where Ivo Papasov
meets The Clash meets The Beat ”
— Songlines Magazine

Entry requirements: 18+
