Hey! For those of you unfamiliar, welcome … we are Worm Disco Club. For those in Bristol who know how we do, thanks for being there!
As we head towards ten years of providing Bristol with the best parties, acts and gigs we can muster up, we are starting a new semi-regular dancing session.
Drawing a close on the monthly sessions @ The Crofters Rights, we’re moving our semi-regular dance/DJ night to the wonderful surrounds of The Old Market Assembly!
‘Bongo Boogie’ does what is says on the tin and we love what’s inside this tin of treats. This is a good excuse for us worms and our hand selected guest DJs to scour the depths of our record collections for any tracks that are bongo, djembe, drum and percussion-laden disco-dancefloor fyahhh!
Latin grooves, Caribbean Disco, the baddest Afro-Funk, swinging sixties tracks, and Jazz-Funk odysseys made for the dancefloor containing raucous solos, crazy drummers and the most bongos possible! Rhythm tracks made to inspire break-outs of spontaneous dance moves you never even knew you had inside of you! It’s time you got loose to let your demons fly away….
We will have high quality vinyl DJs, great sound, good lighting, cocktails, vintage inspired graphics and little added decor and other treats! All the ingredients needed for a good quality dance session! If you’re 18 or 88 we don't care. Dancers and tropical music lovers, come Bongo Boogie with us!
Special guest DJ: Dee'Cleo - With a zest for blending eclectic sounds and ability to curate unforgettable sonic experiences, Dee'Cleo has become a sought-after talent in the Birmingham's music scene. As the Selextorhood events coordinator, and a member/resident DJ of 3 party collectives (Energy Flow, Variations, Pra Vida) Dee'Cleo has worked tirelessly to curate events that showcase the best in underground music and DJs.
Notable achievements also include supporting renowned artists such as Eliza Rose, Oscar Jerome, Yabba funk, Moses Boyd, Eclair Fifi & David Rodigan. Dee'Cleo's dynamic presence has also graced festival stages, including We Out Here and Shambala, where she effortlessly commands the energy of the crowd echoing vibrations everything from soulful jazz, hip-hop, ambient to percussive groove filled Afro, Latin, Funk and beyond! ‘
Joining Dee’Cleo will be the grade-A wrigglers, diggers and spinners Jackson and Nathan Worm.
These sessions will start at 10pm and be 4 hrs of goodness!
