A clubnight held at The Old Market Assembly on Saturday 10th October. The event starts at 22:00.
★ REGGAETON CEILIDH FIESTA ★
A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a traditional Scottish/Irish folk social dance. Reggaeton is all about shaking your ass. Turns out they belong together.
Reggaeton Ceilidh is PAPAYA Fest at full volume: a joyful, high-energy dance party where ceilidh meets reggaeton and everyone’s invited. No dance experience needed - two left feet warmly welcomed.
Created by Ania Varez as a playful DIY metaphor for migration, this participatory event brings together two beloved social dances from different cultures and asks what happens when we meet somewhere in the middle. It’s a celebration of connection, playfulness and finding new ways to move together.
The night begins with a warm welcome and a chance to meet your fellow dancers before we hit the floor. Then, once the dancing is underway, Bristol favourite DJ NOHE takes over to keep the energy high and the party going late into the night.
Come with friends or come solo. Either way, you’ll leave having shared a dance floor, lots of silliness and a night that could only happen at PAPAYA.
