Eat Up Present: New York's gayest cowperson Paisley Fields and Margate country punk icons Pink Suits conquer Bristol with drag king assistance from Small Willy Nelson and a hoedown til late, all presented by Eat Up! Collective.
Active since 2013, Paisley Fields is a singer, songwriter, and bandleader splitting time between Brooklyn, New York and Nashville, Tennessee. A touring member of the newly reformed queer-country icons Lavender Country, Paisley also played keyboard on their 2022 album Blackberry Rose. They were named Out Magazine’s Queer Country Artist You Need to Know 2022 and have played at festivals including South by Southwest. They will be joined on this tour by the wonderful Jesse French.
pink suits are a Non Binary, Queer Feminist Punk Rock & Rage duo based in Margate, UK. Formed in 2017, pink suits make loud aggressive political punk noise as well as dance, physical theatre, film and art. pink suits work is an exploration of sexuality, fantasy, mental health, politics, activism and is a resistance of binary gender expectations, questioning how voices and bodies can be used as a form of protest. Their last show with Eat Up! sold out and they gave toured with Bristol favourites The Menstrual Cramps. They run Margate night Queer Cuntry, putting their unique punk spin on the genre- and look good doing it!
Small Willy Nelson is a drag king who combines campy humour and boot scootin’ dance moves. After winning Jessica Jungle’s I’m Gonna Be A Star, he has been taking the drag scene by storm with performances at events such as Brizzle Boys and Queer As Fuck Cabaret.
Our DJ will keep the queer pop and country spinning til late for a midnight hoedown; expect Dolly Parton, Lil Nas X, Shania Twain and more. Fancy dress is highly encouraged; prizes will be awarded for the best dressed so start rhinestoning that jumpsuit!
