Postcodes Film Screening at On The Hill
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Essential south Bristol community screening, telling the human stories behind knife crime in Hartcliffe and Knowle West. Neil Maggs’ doc follows campaigner Serena Wiebe as she engages young people, so easily vilified and misrepresented in the tabloids, allowing them to voice their struggles, rivalries and grief. "

Postcodes is a powerful and thought-provoking new documentary commissioned by Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership (HWCP), Knowle West Alliance, and Knowle West Health Park, and produced by journalist and filmmaker Neil Maggs.

Following a packed screening at Watershed, we’re bringing the film home to BS13 and BS4 — the communities at the heart of the conversation.

The documentary follows youth voice advocate Serena Wiebe as she engages with young people, youth workers, and police to explore the realities behind knife crime and postcode tensions. Through honest conversations and lived experiences, Postcodes sheds light on the complex challenges facing young people today, while creating space for dialogue, understanding, and change.

This screening offers a valuable opportunity for local audiences to come together, reflect on the issues raised, and be part of an important conversation affecting our communities.
