Simile and Sound: with Sasha Debevec-McKenney

An online webinar workshop led by Sasha Debevec-McKenney

Join poet Sasha Debevec-McKenney in a generative writing workshop based in simile and sound. Participants will read poems by Hera Lindsay Bird, sam sax, and Maggie Millner, and begin to write their own poems about people and relationships, drawing inspiration and unique images from pop culture and the world around us.

Sasha Debevec-McKenney:

Sasha Debevec-McKenney is the author of the poetry collection Joy Is My Middle Name (Fitzcarraldo, 2025). She received her MFA from New York University and has held Creative Writing fellowships from the University of Wisconsin and Emory University. Her poems have been published widely. She was born in Hartford, CT and teaches poetry in Michigan.
