Some of Palestine's olive trees are more than a thousand years old. Land of Canaan follows the farmers who tend them across a full year, from harvest to harvest, including Dr Nasser Abufarha, a Palestinian-American anthropologist who returned to his ancestral homeland to find the olive oil industry in crisis, and went on to lead thousands of small farmers into fair trade. A warm, observational portrait of heritage, food sovereignty and resilience, the film shows a side of Palestine rarely seen in the headlines, rooted in the land and in the ancient act of planting for those who come after. Stay on after the film for dinner.
ACCESS:
The museum is on the 2nd floor of the building and currently only accessible via stairs.
