SCHEDULE:
12.00pm Free Angela Davis and All Political Prisoners!: Communist and revolutionary Angela Davis speaks about the actions that led to her imprisonment and the worldwide political movement for her freedom.
2.30pm Maestra: Cuba, 1961: 250,000 volunteers taught 700,000 people to read and write in one year. Maestra interviews the women involved in transforming society.
3.30pm Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries: Short clips and discussion about the two leaders of the Stonewall uprisings (Marsha P Johnson and Sylvia Rivera) fighting the homelessness, racism and police violence faced by the gay and trans community in NYC.
4.20pm Focus E15: The fight in London led by young mothers demanding social housing not social cleansing.
5.00pm Sylvia Pankhurst: Everything is Possible: This film documents how Sylvia - a communist and suffragette - organised with working class women to build a revolutionary anti-imperialist movement in the east end of London at the time of the First World War.
