Get ready to feel ALIVE!
This fortnightly class offers a supportive, judgement free atmosphere to explore the revitalising, soulful form of House dance. Taking influence from Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin and Pan African styles, House is a freestyle dance by nature, encouraging a sense of mind-body-rhythm connection that transcends the moment. It’s a spiritual thing.
We work through the fundamentals each week, covering basic technique and movement/cultural philosophy before moving through drills and layered repetitions to encourage a state of effortless flow. House dance is a folk dance, a community dance that celebrates equality and expressive freedom - these sessions are about honouring the rich tradition of the genre.
ALL WELCOME. OPEN LEVEL CLASS.
Most participants are enthusiastic beginners:)
