MO KOLOURS (Live)
After our Brazilian flavoured first event (where Fumaca Preta absolutely tore it up), we are quickly following it up with a 2nd "Sundays at The Space" .
We wanted to get another event under our belts before the festival season kicks into action and we're gonna keep it low swung, smoked out and groove deep with a line up and focus on Jazz and Hiphop stylings.
Add in Soul, Rare Groove and yes, Bongo's (or Djembes if we're gonna be precise) to the brew, and we have the perfect soundtrack to a hazy (and lazy) May evening Sunday session.
A DJ who needs little introduction round these parts it's a privilege to have Jay on board for this one. He will be given license to delve deep into his record collection for an extended set.
Kwilsk aka Toby is a towering musical maverick from the depths of Devon (we see a trend here), and a man with more casual swagger than Mick Jagger and Moodyman in a hotel lobby full of mirrors. A maker of beat tapes that are constructed in a exploratory DIY manner, he's a collector of Jazz and Hiphop and will be setting the mood for the evening with a selection of sounds to help adjust your headspace to an outer place.
Joseph Deenmamode aka Mo Kolours is an artist who we figured would fit right into what we at WDC are largely about. He creates music with a worldly bag of influences that has groove, well placed percussion and a porous stream of sunlight running from the layers of textures he creates.
Part of the 22a crew from Peckham/South London, he has been a steady presence over the last 3 years with two well received albums, numerous EP's, shows around the world and high praise from some of the most respected outlets in contemporary music, all backed up with his unique sound palette and confident on stage persona.
Tickets are available online from Bristol Ticket Shop or Resident Advisor and in person from Idle Hands.

VENUE:
The PRSC "Space" is an old Victorian warehouse. Not too big and not too small its essentially a blank canvas and that's why we love it. It's situated on Jamaica Street, next door to the Bell Pub and just off Stokes Croft, a few yards up the hill from Shambarber.
