The Acts

Headlined by Ed Kear:

Having already appeared in blockbuster movies including The Batman (2022), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) and Cruella (2021), Bristol born Actor, writer-director and stand up Ed Kear is one of the most celebrated breakout stars in comedy.

In 2022 he completed his West End debut as ‘Davey’ in the much revered Jez Butterworth play Jerusalem alongside Oscar winner Mark Rylance. On screen he has amassed millions of views with web series’ and comedy sketches and is also a regular on British television. His latest BBC1 comedy Here We Go, in which Ed plays series regular Dean, is due for its second series in 2023.

Already hailed as an exciting new name to break in stand up, Ed is already a regular at the UK’s leading venues.

Hosted by Dani Johns:

Born and bred Bristolian Dani Johns is described as a "smart, clever pocket rocket of a comedian" whose "sassy delivery captivates every audience member".

With an energetic mix of storytelling and serious over sharing, she's been named as one of the best new comics on the scene and is taking the circuit by storm. Even Jason Manford said she’s great.

With support from:

Matt Pugsley
Unapologetically dry, Matt Pugsley is dean pan comedian who blends rapid fire one liners and hilarious short stories told through a working class lens. Popular with audiences, he has performed on some incredible stages across the UK, including Vauxhall Comedy Club, London and is a regular performer at The People's Comedy, Bristol.

Capriella Hooper
As Bristolian as they come, Capriella will be bringing her upbeat musical comedy to the show. Engaging and thoroughly likable, when she’s not performing stand up, Capriella is part of the Biscuit Barrel sketch comedy group, who earned a 5 star review from the Scottish Daily Mail at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Troy Orchard
A previous winner of the Bristol Comedy Chest competition and rising star of the South West Comedy circuit, Troy Orchard is both laid back and acerbic, but always effortlessly funny. A refreshing and original voice on the Bristol comedy scene, Troy possesses an excellent combination of wit, a sincere stage presence and very funny jokes.
