A
event
held at PRSC
on Thursday 6th April. The event starts at 18:00.
An evening of creativity, fun, experimentation and surprising noises.
6-7pm // Come get creative at this low-fi music and poetry workshop from Kat Martian.
This low-cost workshop will involve making music with contact mics, and will stimulate your creativity with poetry writing prompts.
At the “Lo-fi music workshop” we’ll be making contact mics and learning how to put audio outputs on musical childrens’ toys, Learn how to make music without fancy kit. No excuses! Anyone can do it. This workshop will intermingle with a poetry workshop in the sidelines.
At the “Poetry Workshop” we’ll explore various approaches to writing, and new ways to share accompanied by strange noises..
Both will spill over into spontaneous performance.
Special guests will be providing some occasional inspiration and ambience.
7-10pm // Jam session and happening hosted by Brainbeau.
The workshops will be followed by a chance to make experimental noises using your new funky instruments (or you are welcome to bring your own instruments), and to perform your poetry, or just sit back and enjoy the noises of others.
Optional but advised:
* Bring some musical childrens’ toys or other strange “instruments” if you like.
* Dress up “fancy”, wear a funny hat or at least a smile.
* Donation for the host and supplies provided.
Recommended price of £4 but no-one turned away for lack of funds.
