Immerse yourself in acclaimed artists Kathy Hinde and Matthew Olden’s live audio-visual remix of WE ARE WARRIORS.

Step into the Main Cavern of Redcliffe Caves to experience Hinde and Olden’s collaborative octophonic sound piece, where the natural whispers of the river, deep echoes of the underground, and ethereal sounds of celestial bodies converge in harmony woven together with the voices from WE ARE WARRIORS.

Kathy Hinde’s internationally-renowned kinetic sound and light installations use hand-crafted instruments and a fusion of digital and analogue systems to transport you to a new realm of artistic expression. On the 10th she will be debuting a new kinetic light and sound instrument activated by magnetic fields. Matthew Olden’s innovative sound installations and interactive audio environments have secured his reputation as a pioneer in digital art and music, regularly collaborating with Hinde to explore the creative fusion of music and technology.

ABOUT
Kathy Hinde is a celebrated artist and composer known for her transformative installations and performances that forge connections between nature, technology, and human experience. Her work has garnered international acclaim, including prestigious awards such as the Ivor Novello Award for Sound Art and recognition at Prix Ars Electronica. Kathy’s installations, which often invite audience participation, have been showcased across continents, making her a pivotal figure in contemporary art.

Matthew Olden is a visionary digital artist and musician whose work explores the intersection of technology and human expression. From pioneering generative music to creating interactive installations, Matthew’s contributions to the arts have been recognized globally. His collaborations span diverse fields, including dance, theater, and large-scale public installations, reflecting his commitment to pushing artistic boundaries through innovative use of technology.

ACCESSIBILITY

We Are Warriors is a sound and light installation comprising a composition of soft and louder immersive voices and many hundreds of battery powered LED lights.
Earplugs available on request.

Lights will not create a strobe effect.

The installation is located in a human-made cave system, Redcliffe Caves.

The entrance, thoroughfares and caves in which the installation is located are wheelchair accessible.

Please note the floor is uneven.

Guide and Assistance Dogs welcomed.

People who are visually impaired or have mobility impairments may want to be accompanied by a friend, relative or carer, or ask for assistance from one of our stewards on-site with specific elements (such as adding a light to the installation)

IBT stewards will be available to offer support if needed.

Parking is available at Wapping Wharf car park, five minutes away.
