A Fistful of Spookies
Guaranteed to woo, charm, cheer and delight.
A Fistful of Spookies are made up of professional singers and choir-leaders from across the UK who have all toured with festival hits The Spooky Men’s Chorale (Australia) and have enough voices to recreate the complete Spooky canon of achingly beautiful and wonderfully daft songs. Magnificent fun!
For newcomers to the Spooky phenomenon, they have redefined the whole notion of male singing, from anthems extolling the virtues of power tools and the joys of doing nothing (at all) to ancient Icelandic hymns and Georgian work songs, as well as award-winning covers of Abba and Bowie, sensational stylings of Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Queen and their defiant assertion that they are definitely not a men’s group.
With Michael Carlyon, Jamie Dawes, Adrian Mealing, Philip Read, Chris Samuel, James Sills and Dom Stichbury.

Vokalkompagniet (vocal company) is a Danish a cappella choir from Copenhagen, consisting of 18 talented and highly committed singers.
The choir is characterised by its great musicality and its intense stage presence. Exploring new genres and musical territory within the rhythmic choir repertoire is a major and constant priority to the choir. Over the past 25 years, the choir has given a large number of concerts both in Denmark and abroad.
The choir’s brand new conductor, Siri Garde Myggen, is an experienced player on the European music scene, both as a singer and instrumentalist. This will be the fifth time that Vokalkompagniet have visited the UK and given concerts together with A Fistfull of Spookies – an experience that they enjoy just as much as their audiences do.
Their musical repertoire ranges widely, including the rich heritage of their Scandinavian roots, as well as country and bluegrass, modern pop classics, swing jazz and much more. While working continuously to renew and develop their repertoire and musical expression, they always return to their own heartbeat of evocative pop in imaginative, complex a cappella arrangements.
Their beautiful, ringing harmonies and engaging style are a delight to hear.
