Moin & EX AGENT

Thursday 5th December
Rough Trade, Bristol

An intimate look from long-time institution Rough Trade at two of the most exciting contemporary bands operating in a world entirely their own. Ex Agent bring their fiercely experimental No Wave inspired improv to the table, offering a captivating performance for the freaks and the weirdos. Moin needs little introduction — in the midst of the tour for their recent delight ‘You Never End’, released via AD93, they’ll bring their unique fusion of Alt-Rock, Post-Punk and much more, melded together by delectable guitar tone and percussion.

Moin:
Moin are a three piece based in London that comprises Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews of the band Raime and percussionist Valentina Magaletti who operates over a great range of projects such as Vanishing Twin, Tomaga and Lafawandah. The band navigate a revolving set of influences from obvious touch points such as alt rock, post-punk, art-rock and doom metal to more abstract ideas found in improv and found sound recording. In addition to these more closely related areas, shades of electronic music are still present providing a constant dialogue between the two practices.

Ex Agent:
Sitting restlessly between post-rock and free-jazz, Ex Agent throw together dissonant symphonies of sax and piano alongside frantic guitars, drums, and haunting vocals. Combining elements of performance art, post punk, and beat jazz, the five piece sprinkle a taste of noir into a salty No-Wave cacophony.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
