David 9 Lunas / Lady Nade at Salt Café
see event details

A gig on Friday 8th July. The event starts at 19:00pm.

David 9 Lunas is a singer songwriter originally from Trinidad,
who mixes blues, psychedelia and soul in his perfectly crafted songs with the same skill as Shuggie Otis, Arthur Lee and Todd Rundgren.
He recently released his debut album Rain Water & Wine and his EP, Mushroom Tea to great critical acclaim.
'He peppers his songs with little surreal pinpricks of charm and whimsy and somehow he makes something that lingers long in the memory. He makes music that allows you to smile and brings you joy and puzzlement in equal measure. In a fair world he would be a national treasure'
Andy Snipper, Music Newz.com
'Lunas again shows that musically he is happy to wander across various musical boundaries, work in genres ranging from folk, soul, pop, funk and blues but which ever he choses is able to deliver sensitive and restrained tunes, something he does with ease.

Lady Nade has a voice that speaks of long-lost jazz clubs, with a poise that belies her age, mixing modern soul and folk like a blend of Anthony and the Johnsons and Nina Simone.
Lady Nade’s first album single ’Mind’s Made Up’ is already being acclaimed by national press with airplay on both BBC Bristol’s Introducing Show and Tom Robinson's BBC6 Fresh Net.
"Unique, wonderful, voice which has the power to move you.” Ian Matthews of Kasabian
"Great voice, distinctive and original, another hidden treasure from Bristol.” Roni Size
