Information:

CHRIS TAVERNER

Chris Tavener is the witty, satirical songwriter saying things that everybody thinks, but nobody says. Rock ‘n’ roll infused with comedy. Folk dipped in satire.
It’s like Peep Show set to music! If Jimmy Carr played guitar...he would be Chris Tavener.
“Comedic genius” - Pop Culture Pipebomb

Chris has been known to play as many as 350 gigs a year, making him one of the most hard-working singer-songwriters in the UK. He’s had endorsements from Carl Barat of The Libertines, Will Ferrell’s ‘Funny Or Die’, Paddy McGuinness, Jamie Lawson and Steve Lamacq of BBC 6 Music. Steve has played Chris’ tracks four times on national radio.

Originally from Northwich in Cheshire, Chris began writing and producing demo albums annually from age 17. He writes storytelling songs about the ironic comedy in everything from drunken romance, celebrity worship, football hooligans and small town problems. In the past year, Chris has performed at Glastonbury Festival, The Great Escape, Latitude Festival and The Edinburgh Fringe to name but a few.

In 2017, he recorded his first live album in two back-to-back, sold out shows at Manchester’s Three Minute Theatre. He followed that up with a national tour, which included dates supporting the likes of Peep Show’s Super Hans at Manchester Academy. His new album and DVD are set for release in early 2018.

Testimonials:
"An interesting lad with an elastic turn of phrase" - Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music
"Nice set. Kinks-y vibes" - Carl Barat, The Libertines
"Brilliant!" - Jamie Lawson
"Amazing. Often with comedy songs you can only enjoy them once or twice, but you can listen to his songs again and again" - Gavin Osborn (Singer-songwriter for BBC Radio 4)
"That was proper funny!" - Mike Sweeney (BBC Radio Manchester)

GAVIN OSBORN

Echo Bridge, his fifth album, was described by The Observer as “One of 2017’s most relatable releases”.
Mixing the personal with the political, expect a glorious set of lyrical loveliness from one of the best songwriters in the country. Familiar to BBC Radio 4 listeners, Gavin has also co-written heart-warming story-shows with comedian Daniel Kitson for Regents Park Open Air Theatre, toured the UK supporting Belle & Sebastian, played sold-out shows at Hammersmith Apollo as part of Robin Ince’s Book Club, as well as regular appearances at Latitude and Green Man festivals.

“Simultaneously hilarious and heart-rending songs about the difficulties of love in a modern world” - The Independent

“Exactly how to meld erudition, wit and acoustic guitar. A brilliantly accomplished singer-songwriter with touchingly quirky lyrics” – Chortle

“Funny and touching. Osborn walks a similar tightrope to Loudon Wainwright III but remains perfectly balanced” - Stewart Lee, Sunday Times
