Floor Function: SHYBOI and Yushh tickets
SHYBOI crafts blistering, politically-charged collages of vocal snippets, soulful Detroit techno and polyrhythmic hard drum. Like her contemporaries UMFANG, Rizzla and Dj Haram, these boundless journeys enact a musical queering of the dancefloor that poses radical cultural questions. Paving a way for LGBTQ+ and non-male artists through the Discwoman and KUNQ collectives, Shyboi's been reshaping the discourse around dance music. She debuts in Bristol alongside Yushh on Saturday. A huge booking for Floor Function who've made a splash at Take Five with the likes of FAE and a more-than-welcome 'minimal phones on the dancefloor' policy. ? Tickets: hdfst.uk/E51605 ?
APR x BKX v PTS tickets
PTS x ASTRAL PLANE X BOKEH Psychotherapy Sessions - PTS collab with two leading labels of experimental club (LA's The Astral Plane and Bristol's very own Bokeh Versions) at Stag and Hounds Public House for a 1e strong lineup extravaganza of hard drum, jersey club and that anything-goes aesthetic fans of PTS will demand. Loft's rhizomic drum programming and hallucinogenic sound design is the big pull with local ascendant industrial trap duo Kinlaw & Franco Franco hot in support with SHALT, DJ Roy Bar, Vio_l3t, nunu, Ye Ye and Jurango. ? Tickets: hdfst.uk/E51196
