SERCHIA is delighted to invite you to Sun + Shadow: The Sun.
This exhibition is the second and final iteration of the two part solo exhibition by artist-in-residence, Dori Deng. Unveiling her newest light installations in an exploration of cyclical nature, and sharing its name with the published philosophy of an architect by Marcel Breuer, this exhibition alludes to modernist architecture as an investigation of urbanisation and de-urbanisation. Observing the present climate after a century-long journey, we find ourselves at the start of the cycle as we return to handmade, to slow living, and to an exodus of city dwelling.
Please join us in the company of the artist on the afternoon of Saturday 02 December 23 in celebration of the second iteration, The Sun. The exhibition will be on view and open daily by appointment until the end of day on the Winter Solstice 22 December 2023 at SERCHIA 24 Elmgrove Road Bristol BS6 6AJ. The exhibition is complimentary with an option to donate to the gallery.
