Following her sold-out show at Aberystwyth Comedy Festival, join Amy Mason (The Islanders, Mass) for the third outing of her brand-new comedy hour in Bristol. Support from Leilah King.
Free Mason charts Amy's first couple of years after coming out as queer in her late 30s, and explores the many ways the world holds us back. Expect material on parenting, dating, and the patriarchy.
This will be a script-in-hand sharing. It contains brief mentions of sexual assault and themes of mental illness.
Leilah King is a half-Iranian queer footballer, mental health advocate, and stand-up poet. Her debut poetry collection Midnight Picnics in Tehran was published by Burning Eye Books. Her new collection We Are Hungry for Androgyny is recently out with Polari Press.
She is the co-founder and host of Time of the Month Open Mic. A nurturing and supportive performance space for female/ trans/nonbinary/GNC performers in Bristol.
