Blue Mondays - Weekly Blues Dancing at Small Bar

A clubnight held at Small Bar on Monday 10th November. The event starts at 19:30.

Join us for an evening of blues dancing. We'll kick it off with a 1h dance lesson (all levels welcome), followed by 2h of social dancing to music curated by our local DJs.

[This is a relatively small event (think 10-30 people), 'club night' just felt like the best fitting of the Headfirst event categories.]

No need to bring a partner, just make sure to wear comfortable shoes (or socks that you're happy for us to see ;) ).

ABOUT BLUE MONDAYS

We're a community of dancers in Bristol who meet every Monday for a blues dance class followed by a couple of hours of social dancing. Blues is a great way to get into partner dancing - with a gentle learning curve and degendered teaching, we make sure there is space for everyone. With a focus on connection and improvisation over very complex sequences of steps, we guarantee that by the end of your first session you'll be grooving to some great tunes on the social floor!

ABOUT THIS LESSON

Tristan has been thinking about what it is about dances that makes them feel smooth and competent

(For your partner that is - how you feel is best addressed by self reflection and kindness)

Turns out the answer isn't *just* fancy moves!

He's put together a lesson for tomorrow where we'll go through several "moves" that are simple enough they almost don't seem like moves, but give us little connection moments to flow between parts of our dance.
