California Beer Tap Takeover at Small Bar

A event on Sunday 10th August. The event starts at 20:00.

Bristol's Small Bar hosts unique Cali brew evening

Small Bar, Bristol's leading destination for craft beer devotees, has announced that California craft brewing royalty will pay a visit to their King Street home on Sunday August 10th from 7pm.

Jamil Zainasheff, Head Brewer at Heretic Brewing Company located in Fairfield, California, is visiting Small Bar as a forerunner to The Great British Beer Festival which runs between 12-16 August. From 7pm, attendees at the one-off event will be able to sample six of Zainasheff's devilishly tasty award-winning beers in bottles and on draft.

Gramarye (ABV 4.4% and 28 IBUs) is a magical Rye Pale Ale made with a dose of rye malt to give it a luscious feel and snappy finish. The brew, named after the study of magic, lifted gold at the Great American Beer Festival and bronze at the 2013 Australian International Beer Awards.

Evil Twin (ABV 6.8% and 45 IBUs) is a blood-red Strong American Ale which offers rich malt without overpowering sweetness and took a Gold Medal at the 2013 Australian International Beer Awards.

CHP (ABV 7% and 45 IBUs) is dessert in a glass. This rich porter has a fiendish mix of chocolate and hazelnut as well as notes of coffee and caramel to soothe even the most savage beast.

Shallow Grave (ABV 7% and 33 IBUs) is as dark as night and perfect for a cool evening in the woods. This big, dark ale with complex, rich chocolate and caramel malt offers a touch of warmth and light malt sweetness. You'll dig it.

Evil Cousin (ABV 8% and 100 IBUs) is Heretic's take on a West Coast Imperial and has a light, easy drinking malt character which allows the big, sticky, aggressive hops plenty of room to shout!

Torment (10% and 20 IBUs) is a tempestuous Dark Belgian rich beer with lots of caramel, malt, dark fruit, and Belgian candy sugar notes. The luscious fruity character is full of caramel apples, candied pears, and chocolate covered oranges.

On his trip to Bristol, Zainasheff commented:

'Coming to Bristol to showcase my beer is a little like a pilgrimage; folks over there in the UK are renowned the world over for enjoying beer so I can't wait to see what they think of the six we're bringing over. I've put my heart and soul into the brews and I'd like to think that from the light snappiness of Gramarye right through to the deepness of Torment, there's something for the Heretic in everyone.'

Heretic Brewing's Tap Takeover takes place at Small Bar King Street on Sunday August 10th from 7.
