Cider Circle | Blackmoor Estate at Small Bar
Fine Cider Tasting

A event held at Small Bar on Wednesday 9th April. The event starts at 19:00.

Cider Circle is Bristol Cider Club's monthly meetup, hosted every second Wednesday of the month. This Spring, we have three very exciting tasting events hosted by some of the UK's most exciting cider and perry producers.

In April we’ll be joined by William from Blackmoor Estate. Based in Hampshire, Blackmoor are masters in méthode traditionnelle (the method used to produce Champagne) and co-fermented ciders that make use of cherries from their own orchard.

Shout out to all the Champagne and sparkling wine lovers – this one’s for you.

Tasting lineup:
Gospel Green Brut 2018 – traditional method cider
Gospel Green Cherry – Gospel Green w/ cherry juice
Black Cherry – full juice co-ferment/blend
Brickyard – Egremont Russet based
Egremont Russet – single varietal, wild ferment

Blackmoor Estate is a family-run farm that has been selling fruit since the 1920s. In 2022 the company began producing cider and apple juice from blends and single varieties of their finest handpicked apples. Each has a unique production process and taste.

This same year, Gospel Green joined the Blackmoor Estate family. In common with sparkling wine, Gospel Green is made using the double fermentation ‘traditional method’ to produce a delicious and sophisticated sparkling cider. It provides the perfect alternative to champagne, prosecco and sparking wine.

What's it all about?
Cider Circle is a social bottle share hosted by Bristol Cider Club. Each month, we come together as a group of friends and friends-to-be to enjoy a range of independently-made craft ciders and perries. These are provided by the club's regular members, but we welcome everyone to bring and share. We discuss the fruits and processes used, the styles, flavours, and aromas, and the stories behind the makers themselves.

Cider and perry are incredible drinks with a rich history and heritage, a fascinating craft process, and a deep connection with the natural environment. Together, they're having a global revival, with hundreds of artisan makers producing some of the best ciders and perries the world has ever seen. Come and get involved!
