Aether Valentine
After appearing in Folk-Punk duo PixiexNightbird, Aether Valentine has performed around the country as one of Karen Swan's Creatures and currently stars in Steve Lake’s Acts of Resistance. Drawing on her own struggles with identity and self-expression and armed with an acoustic guitar, she now presents her debut album: The Lifebringer Smells of Death.
Emo-folk tinged with Blues and Rap, her voice - the angelic and haunting qualities of which are a reflection of the beauty and decay often found in dystopian fantasies she draws inspiration from - transports you to dimensions beyond. With songs about loss, self-discovery and rebirth, Aether paints an authentic picture of a woman's experience in the 21st century.

Declan Kitchener
His trademark blend of epic Pop and DIY Rock combined with self-deprecating charm and irresistibly constructed chord progressions, make his live performances as memorable as they are impressive.
Declan’s songwriting skills are regularly showcased on the long running show 'The Weekly Song Podcast', and his recorded works include the debut album ‘Apathy Will Get You Nowhere’ and collaborative masterpiece 'Attaboy' by Schnookums. He makes a very welcome return to the city he once called home.

Louis Valentine
The mysterious and many-monikered Carl Philip Louis will be ushering in the night as 'Louis Valentine', a persona under which he will treat us to piano interpretations of Aether's songs as well as fragments of Monk, Mingus and his own avantgarde material. Whilst performing in PixiexNightbird, Karen Swan and Her Creatures, Acts of Resistance and alone, Carl has become known for his trademark Mandola/Mandolin style - referred to as "pyrotechnic", "thrash-mando" or "mando-shredd".
This evening will be a somewhat rare chance to see him back behind a piano where his love of Monk, Mengelberg, and the Second Viennese School combine with a punk attitude to create an earnest and enthralling spectacle.

Entry requirements: 18+
