Luke De-Sciscio + William Barkley + Leo Baby + at SouthBank
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Bath-based singer-songwriter Luke De-Sciscio’s astral folk embodies a classic autumnal warmth and soul-searching intensity. Flighty, unabashedly emotional expressions, inviting and encouraging the audience to feel along. New fave FFO: John Martyn, Jeff Buckley, Van Morrison, Cat Stevens, Buffy Sainte-Marie."

VooKoo Presents:
FIRST FRIDAY LIVE
with…
Luke De-Sciscio + William Barkley + Leo Baby + DJ Afterparty!

AT THE SOUTHBANK CLUB

Our legendary monthly live music series returns with...

Luke De-Sciscio
It is no small miracle that from that vantage, weaving tapestries from behind his guitar, Luke De-Sciscio amassed over 10 million plays on Spotify, was invited to open for legends such as Cat Stevens and Jose Feliciano and has become a frequent spin on BBC6MUSIC.
His music has been described as 'impossibly, world-stoppingly real' (Marc Schuster) and 'viscerally beautiful' (Real Goblin).
Lyrical potency takes centre stage amongst the elasticity of his voice and the born-in grasp of his guitar.
RIYL: John Martyn, Jeff Buckley, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens or Buffy Sainte-Marie.

Support

William Barkley:
With fingerstyle arrangements of Brazilian samba, Irish jigs, Latin rumba, Chinese folk and more, his playing blends serene melodies with foot-tapping rhythms.
William’s performances are joyful and relaxed, offering not just beautiful music, but a sense of connection to global traditions. Through his guitar interpretations of other stringed instruments such as the Arabic oud and West African kora, William invites his audience to share in his love for musical traditions the world over and maybe discover a
new favourite style.

Leo Baby:
Through a unique fusion of Alt-folk and Indie-soul, with irreverent glimpses into gypsy jazz and Latin infused rhythms. Drawing audiences into a vibrant world of melody and rhythm rich with storytelling and warmth.
