Film Screening : Wingwomen at SouthBank
General

A event held at SouthBank on Sunday 1st February. The event starts at 17:30.

Synopsis
Tired of life on the run, two expert thieves and lifelong best friends recruit the fierce and unpredictable Sam for one final job—unlike anything they’ve attempted before.

What’s in it for you?
Continuing a trend in our screenings, you’ll be treated to performances by some of France’s most beloved actors. The cast includes Isabelle Adjani (The Godmother), alongside other familiar faces you may have already discovered with us in All Your Faces. You’ll also spot Philippe Katerine, whom many of you might remember—quite memorably—painted blue (and naked) during the Olympic opening ceremony.
As with many action films, the synopsis is intentionally concise. But make no mistake: this is a particularly rich cinematic experience.
This action film offers a refreshing female gaze, bringing emotional depth, hesitation, and internal conflict to genres traditionally driven by masculine codes. The protagonists’ doubts and inner negotiations are given real visual presence, creating a markedly different rhythm and outlook from the classic male‑gazed action film.
Landscape, movement, dance, pacing, and wardrobe all play a crucial role, contributing to a polished, immersive, and deeply pleasurable aesthetic experience.
