held at Sparks Bristol
on Saturday 11th November. The event starts at 13:30.
Acting out a Greener, Fairer Future
Bristol has commited to a Just Transition to help tackle climate change and look after nature. Yet what this will look like in practice is still to be decided. The city will need to change in lots of ways and making sure that these changes are fair for everyone is a complicated task that will take sitting with many difficult conversations. For example, people in the city need to drive less to be kinder to the planet but we will need to make other types of transport much better to make sure people can still get around in a way that works for them.
To do its just transition well, Bristol will need to have lots of open conversations and imagination, and to work together across many different communities.
To start thinking in this way, this event will use a type of interactive theatre called Forum Theatre to explore some of these problems and possible ways of solving them. Join to help us imagine different futures, creatively problem-solve and have fun.
What is Forum Theatre?
Forum Theatre is a type of improvised play where the audience is invited to explore problems and types of unfairness with the aim of coming up with different ways of doing things. When they want to, members of the audience are invited to step into the scenes to take the role of one of the characters. In this way they can change what happens to make a better outcome. You will be led through a series of fun games beforehand to help you ease into the space and build your confidence.
Tickets
Please cancel your ticket if you find yourself unable to attend so someone else can use your space. This also really helps us plan the session around numbers.
