Just Transition for Bristol at Sparks Bristol

A event held at Sparks Bristol on Saturday 25th July. The event starts at 10:30.

With the constant escalation of warfare across the world and the growing urgency of the climate emergency, it is now more important than ever to come together as workers to plan a future for our city in the midst of all this destruction. Just Transition is about making sure that any move towards a de-militarised and environmentally conscious Bristol is decided by the people who make up the majority of those living in it: workers. This all-day event will have a panel discussion featuring Khem Rogaly, a Principal Research Fellow at Common-Wealth who has designed a 'Lucas Plan for the 21st century', a means of de-militarising without losing jobs for workers, and Oscar Berglund, Senior Lecturer in International Public and Social Policy at the University of Bristol, focused on climate activism and its criminalisation, as well as co-president of the University and Colleges Union (UCU) branch at the university.
