QUEERING THEATRE - TASTER SESSION with Jupiter ‘Ruby’ Procter & Constantine Caruso MYB Studio @ Sparks Thursday, December 18th | 6:30–8:30pm £15 low income • £20 standard • £25 supporter 8 spots available If you’ve ever sat in a acting lab thinking: “This scene would have much higher stakes if the characters were queer.” or “I trained as an actor before I identified as queer, and now I feel slightly disconnected from my craft.” …then this workshop is for you. We’re queering text. We’re inverting expectations. We’re making space for creative curiosities that mainstream training doesn’t actively encourage. And we’re doing it with two facilitators who live + breathe this work YOUR FACILITATORS Jupiter “Ruby” Procter (They/Them) | MYB’s Narrative Architect • Writer & director with an uncanny ability to find jokes, nuance, and narrative threads that no one else notices • Master’s degree with a dissertation on storytelling tools • Wrote & directed Meister Krabat + WONDERLAND/Losing Your Head • Adapted & directed Toormina Video + Radio Jupiter • Recently: Assistant Director for The Pillowman Constantine Caruso (He/They) | Not Allowed to Give Himself a Nickname :( • Actor & dramaturg specialising in stories that dive viscerally & unapologetically into exploring the depths of the human condition • BA in Theatre (Acting & Dramaturgy) from James Madison University (USA) • Completed two dissertations (certified nerd) examining socio-political movements through the lens of theatrical adaptation: explored how shifts in definitions and analysis strategy reveal new insights and new pathways forward • Recently: Ariel in The Pillowman THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU IF: ✨ You want the freedom to explore your craft in a way that honours your identity ✨ You’re bored of cishet default assumptions in text work ✨ You want to explore how queering classical or contemporary characters can raise stakes, deepen relationships, and elevate the story This isn’t a masterclass. This is a workshop. A space to experiment collaboratively, discover wildly, and build something full of queer joy. ❓ Not sure if it’s the right level for you❓ DM us where you’re at.
