Climate Convos and Crafts at Sparks Bristol
See event details

A event held at Sparks Bristol on Thursday 20th July. The event starts at 18:00.

Hi, I'm Ellen Edwards, an MA Design student at UWE looking for participants to join me in my pilot series of ‘Climate Convos and Crafts’. This is the focus of my research into how crafting within a workshop setting can be used to facilitate conversations about the climate crisis and ease climate-anxiety.

This research will be conducted as a workshop session, where we will dive into a crafting activity whilst creating an open and safe space to discuss our thoughts and feelings, before moving on to look outwards at how we can begin to imagine our climate resilient future.

The evening session will be on the 20th of July at the newly refurbished SPARKS in their Department of Imagination. SPARKS is a department store with a difference, and they champion climate positive lifestyles and support local artists, makers and traders. Free vegan refreshments will be provided, though you are more than welcome to bring your own plant-based snacks and drinks.

The workshops will be facilitated by myself, Hazel Morfett, and Faith Terry-Doyle.

I will be sending more details, including participation information and consent forms via email closer to the event.

Love and crafts,
Ellen x
