BNM: Young In Hong at Spike Island

An event held at Spike Island on Saturday 27th April. The event starts at 15:00.

This event is part of #BristolNewMusic

Door time: 12pm
Start time: 3pm

A performance that draws inspiration from Korean shamanic traditions, where drums and rhythmic instruments are used to blur the divide between the human and the divine.

It features a Taiko drummer and four performers who activate a series of percussion instruments, exploring alternative and non-verbal responses to history, narrative and form.

The work invokes a premodern sensibility, particularly the concept of the sacred, suggesting that artworks can embody forgotten powers that go beyond representation.

Performed by Molly Olivia Broad, Emma Holbrook, Johnny Jones, Eden Leo and Clara Potter- Sweet.
