Join us to celebrate the final day of Adam Khalil’s and Bayley Sweitzer’s exhibition "Nosferasta" with a special screening of F.W. Murnau’s silent classic horror film "Nosferatu, A Symphony of Horror" (1922). An unauthorised adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897) starring Max Schreck (vampire Count Orlok), Gustav von Wangenheim and Greta Schröder, Nosferatu marked the first appearance on screen of Dracula and it remains one of the eeriest of the many film versions.
The film will be accompanied by a special live performance by Bristol-based modular synth musician, Surgeons Girl. This event is part of Bristol New Music, a major experimental music festival in the city.

Specialising in live audio-visual performance, combined with a love of analogue synths, Surgeons Girl weaves emotive and enveloping sounds from her instruments with a remarkable introspective feel and sonic maturity, drawing on influences from the likes of Laurel Halo, Caterina Barbieri and Dasha Rush.
The reflective and immersive extraterrestrial synth explorations of Surgeons Girl's A Violet Sleep EP marked a stunning, dream-like debut for the Bristol based artist to close a tumultuous year in 2020 on the Bristol label, Livity Sound. She followed this up with The Empress Moss on London label Inside Out Records this year.

ABOUT BRISTOL NEW MUSIC
The fourth edition of Bristol New Music (BNM) promises four days of commissioned works, sonic responses to rarely used spaces, landmark concert hall performances, workshops, film and club nights from Thu 5 - Sun 8 May.
The first names announced for the 2022 festival include Hezarfen Ensemble, Angel Bat Dawid, Bendik Giske, Nazar, Beatrice Dillon feat. Kuljit Bhamra, Viridian Ensemble, Harrga, MC Yallah and Debmaster.
Among site-specific works which draw inspiration from Bristol locations are artist Kelly Jayne Jones’ intimate multimedia performance deep inside the hidden vaults of Clifton Suspension Bridge, Áine O'Dwyer capturing the song and instrumentation of time, place and people in the Bristol neighbourhood of Easton, and Ellen Arkbro performing a new organ piece on the renowned Harrison & Harrison organ at St Mary Redcliffe.
