Public Art: Jahday Ford and Suzanne Heath at Spike Island
See event details

A event held at Spike Island on Tuesday 22nd October. The event starts at 18:00.

Join artist Jahday Ford and south-west-based curator Suzanne Heath as they discuss the development of the artwork, provisionally titled 'Voices of the Blue'.

Glass maker and designer Jahday Ford has been commissioned to create a new site-specific public artwork for the interior of the 3-storey clocktower entrance of Bristol Guildhall, Broad Street, which will become Hotel Gotham in 2025.

The session will start with an introduction to the project and the commissioning process by Suzanne, followed by a presentation by Jahday, sharing his creative journey and initial design ideas for the commission.

We will then open up to a wider discussion with the group, giving everyone the chance to ask questions and share dialogue around the importance of public art commissioning in Bristol and beyond.
