A gig on Friday 18th September. The event starts at 13:15.
Pete Judge is a musician & composer based in Southville. He’s best-known as a trumpeter - with BBC Jazz Award winners Get The Blessing, acoustic folk trio Three Cane Whale, and many others. Over the last few years, he has also released three albums of original solo piano pieces, recorded at St George’s Bristol, featured on BBC Radio 3 and 6Music, and described by music writer Richard Williams as "the perfect music for the times we're living through”. A fourth album was recorded in August this year, and will be released in 2027. Most of the compositions are inspired by particular places, by the rhythms of walking through them, and by the patterns and textures of the natural world. Today he’ll be playing pieces from all four albums, with a particular focus on pieces inspired by the landscapes that encircle Bristol - and all performed on St Aldhelm's latest acquisition: a 1904 Broadwood grand piano.
