In 1963, the unconventional Mrs. Flax (Cher) and her daughters teenage Charlotte (Winona Ryder) and young Kate (Christina Ricci) arrive in small town New England. Mrs Flax is prone to moving her family somewhere new whenever a romantic relationship ends. But could the arrival of kind-hearted Lou lead to a permanent stop for the family?
