A bird in the hand: word collage workshop at St Anne's House
See event details

A event on Saturday 8th June. The event starts at 12:00.

This workshop will be a creative exploration into metaphors with a
special emphasis on birds and bird phrases from the English language.

The workshop is part of Mother Ducker! Art Weekender in which alternative arts education programme Day School presents the final exhibition of its 2023/24 cohort.

The workshop will entail collaging with words to make posters, postcards and stickers. This workshop will be taking inspiration for the Dadaist ‘cut-up method’ and ideas articulated by George Orwell in his essay on the English Language.

Be ready to cut and stick and find meaning where there previously was none!

We will provide texts to cut up but if you have any specific cuttings words, letters etc that you want to bring along please do!
