A event on Sunday 21st June. The event starts at 11:00.
Jar Squad brings people together to preserve food - pickles, chutneys, krauts and other delicious things.
This time, we'll be making a summer shrub - a tangy fruit cordial that makes a great non-alcoholic drink (or cocktail ingredient) - as well as some seasonal vegetable quick pickles. We will make these together and you will have some to take home.
Jar Squad is a commoning project which means we run it collectively, share responsibilities and prioritise being together rather than transactional relationships. We are aiming towards a circular economy, reducing food waste, making the most of gluts and rediscovering communal abundance, collective action, and conviviality.
This edition of Jar Squad is a fundraiser and proceeds will be sent to Beit el Baraka, who work on the ground to provide food and relief to Lebanese people affected by Israeli bombing.
