Shock Corridor with Richard Allen at St Anne's House
See event details

A event on Thursday 18th November. The event starts at 17:00.

About this event
Richard Allen will spend November working with the architecture of St Anne’s House to create an ambitious sound installation inspired by Frank Hoyle’s 1957 Science Fiction novel The Black Cloud.

Shock Corridor will engage with the building to create a sonic landscape that frames the story of a gigantic alien cloud that appears above the earth, blocks out the sun and tries to suffocate the planet, transforming St Anne’s into a landscape of ecological disaster.

Richard Allen makes site-specific performance that re-imagines spaces and places through storytelling with objects and sound. He has made work in quarries, car parks, suburban garages, telephone boxes and a seaside fish and chip shop, exploring the relationship between human and non-human worlds.

Talk duration: 1 hour, 18.00-19.00

Please note that we will take photographs during the event which may be shared on our website and social media. Please make us aware when you arrive if you do not wish to be photographed.
