Erland Cooper at St George's Bristol
See event details

A gig held at St George's Bristol on Tuesday 12th October. The event starts at 20:00.

Award-winning Scottish composer Erland Cooper takes inspiration from the natural world and transforms them into mesmerising, anxiety-easing masterpieces.

Producing a balance between alternative, electronic and classical, Cooper was previously involved with The Magnetic North and Erland and The Carnival before releasing two solo albums, 2018’s Solan Goose and last year’s Sule Skerry.

Known for his experimental approach, such as using geese as backing singers or getting a thousand children to sing like starlings, Cooper’s emotive output crafts “highly evocative pieces of aural geography,” that build “elegant motifs from nothing, pushing each as far as it needs to go before allowing the tide’s return,” (Clash).
