on Sunday 19th April. The event starts at 15:00.
Did you know Britain’s most prolific serial killer was born and raised in St George? That Queen Elizabeth I processed in state along Church Road? And that the Fire Engine pub had nothing to do with putting out fires?
Our walk through 800 years of history includes a rare medieval survivor, a Tudor monarch and the grand tombs and monuments of the industrialists whose Victorian collieries and factories swept away the old market gardens and changed the landscape forever. Even locals will see something they’ve never seen before.
Meet St George’s Saints, Sinners and the many ordinary folk in between whose lives were every bit as extraordinary.
