gig

This is going to be very special. Singer/songwriter and guitarist Nic Jones was one of the most critically acclaimed, quietly influential members of the English contemporary folk scene until a near-fatal road accident in 1982 left him unable to perform. Although later coaxed into the recording studio for a few songs, and an appearance at the 2010 Sidmouth Folk Festival, it was Michael Proudfoot's revelatory documentary film, 'The Enigma of Nic Jones', shown on BBC Four last year, that helped re-focus attention on the genius of a man whose 1980 album'Penguin Eggs' is widely regarded as one of the best LPs ever made. One of only a handful of dates organised by his family, this concert features Nic singing many of his most enduring songs, sharing the stage with his son Joe Jones, a noted guitarist and singer himself
