Bristol Concert Orchestra at St George's Bristol
£8-£15, children £1 [+fee]

A gig held at St George's Bristol on Saturday 12th March. The event starts at 20:00.

The dazzling and sparkling Scheherazade (Rimsky-Korsakov's orchestral tour de force depicting the Arabian tales of'One Thousand and One Nights') headlines this concert, alongside Debussy's gorgeous and sensual musical vision of another literary work: Prelude a l'apres-midi d'un faune (Afternoon of a Faun).

The jazz-influenced 4th Piano Concerto by Rachmaninov is complemented by two well-known pieces by Shostakovich: his orchestration of Tahiti Trot (Tea for Two) and - a work which found fame in Stanley Kubrick's last film'Eyes Wide Shut' - Waltz No.2 from the Jazz Suite.
