A event held at St George's Bristol on Saturday 5th December. The event starts at 20:00.

Saturday 5 December, 2015

St George's Bristol, 7:30pm

For this concert celebrating composers born in 1865, Sibelius is up first and last with his Karelia Suite and the epic and life-affirming 5th Symphony.

Between those book-ends we have Nielsen's wonderful sunrise evocation Helios Overture and the fantastic (and fantastical) The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Dukas. The centrepiece is Glazunov's gorgeous and inventive Violin Concerto for which we are delighted to welcome back exciting young violinist Eloisa-Fleur Thom.
