Mahler: Symphony No.9
Beethoven: Romances 1 & 2 for Violin & Orchestra
Bristol Concert Orchestra (conductor Stefan Hofkes) welcomes exciting young violinist Eloisa-Fleur Thom to play Beethoven's lyrical Romances for violin and orchestra.
The main work of the concert - Mahler's ninth symphony - was described by Leonard Bernstein as'the ultimate farewell' to passion and human love; to country life and urban society; and to life itself. Yet this extraordinary and immense work remains a defiant affirmation of life.
There will be a retiring collection in aid of the Great Western Air Ambulance.
Tickets £15, £13, £10, £8 (concessions £2 discount), children £1 [+fee] are available from St George's Bristol in person, by phone: 0845 40 24 001 or online
