Bristol Concert Orchestra offer a concert to delight and thrill on Saturday 8 December at St George's Bristol under conductor Stefan Hofkes, who always entertains with his witty and insightful introductions to the pieces about to be played.
The concert opens with a seasonal touch in Delius' delightful Winter Night (Sleigh Ride). Virtuoso cellist Joseph Spooner will enthral with Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme, and the concert will conclude with Mahler's 5th Symphony. Evoking despair, grief, anger, anxiety, profound love (in the famous Adagietto) and finally explosive Joy, prepare to be swept away by this emotional and virtuosic juggernaut.
There will be a retiring collection in aid of Parkinson's UK.
