A
gig
held at St George's Bristol
on Sunday 5th May. The event starts at 20:30.
Spellbinding harmonies and layers of sound.
Hands of the Heron are a dreamfolk trio from Bristol. Their instantly recognisable vocal harmonies flow from three frontwomen Bec Garthwaite, Beth Roberts & Claire Vine.
Together the trio move effortlessly between sparse choral folk & spellbinding chamber pop, richly layered with an assortment of strings, drones & reeds.
Mastering their own influential label, Cuculi Records, their long awaited last album 13 Moons (2021) was roundly praised as “a wondrous collection of curious story-songs, choral singing and carefully layered instrumentation" (Joyzine).
Hands of the Heron have built a strong following in the South West, performing alongside Rachel Dadd, Lisa O’Neil (Outlandish Knights) & selling out gigs in Totnes, Exeter & Plymouth. Further afield, the trio performed sumptuous sets at Fire in the Mountain, Green Man & the Green Gathering.
