Formed at the Royal Northern College of Music, the Sterling Trio comprises flute, clarinet and piano, a unique combination of instruments with a repertoire spanning music from the Renaissance to present day. The programme moves from Bach to'Paganini of the clarinet' Ernesto Cavallini to Malcolm Arnold's'Grand Fantasia' trio, full of panache and youthful spirit, and on to three contemporary delights.
