As performed last year at Philip Glass's'Days and Nights' festival in Big Sur, singer and actress Tara Hugo presents her programme of'Glass Songs', which she recorded in 2012 with Philip Glass as executive producer. The songs include four original Glass songs with lyrics by Hugo herself, and eight songs from Glass's collaborations with Leonard Cohen, Allen Ginsberg, Natalie Merchant and Mick Jagger. Tara Hugo was nominated for an Olivier Award for her role as Jenny Diver in Donmar Warehouse's production of'The Threepenny Opera' directed by Phyllida Lloyd, and appeared in the Philip Glass/Leonard Cohen song-cycle'Book of Longing', in 2007-9, conducted by Michael Riesman.
Riesman, an internationally renowned composer, conductor, keyboardist and record producer, has been the Musical Director of the Philip Glass Ensemble since 1976.
