Tonight’s concert launches the release of ‘Beyond the Dancing Sun’, Andy’s fourth album as a leader for ECM Records. Following its highly acclaimed predecessor ‘Surrounded By Sea’, which led to a ‘European Jazz Musician of the Year’ award, and featuring the same personnel, the new album sees the quartet exploring new directions at the forefront of melodic contemporary jazz. Andy Sheppard plays saxophones; Eivind Aarset, guitar and electronics; Michel Benita, double bass; Sebastian Rockford, drums.
